The Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland was formed 60 years ago and is now Queensland's largest, non-government physical disability services provider. The League spends approximately $60 million a year to provide services that assist people with cerebral palsy and related disabilities to reach their education, employment, independent living and community participation goals. The resources to do this are obtained through fundraising activities, community support and some government assistance.About the Opportunity
Due to continued growth in client numbers, the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland has a number of fantastic opportunities for Part Time Support Workers to join their team in the Gladstone region.
Reporting to the Adult Accommodation Coordinator, the main aim of these positions is to support people to access and live in the accommodation of their choice, actively promote independence and assist individuals to develop networks and supports which will enable them to participate as valued members of their community.
The League is seeking caring, tolerant and patient applicants with good communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.
It is desired that applicants hold a Certificate III (or higher) in Disability Services, and a current driver's licence, though these are not essential.
